One of our more unusual commissions was to provide an explosion proof control panel for ventilation systems in a bomb-proof underground air raid shelter in Ruislip, Greater London.

The ventilation panels were critical to safe working conditions within the underground structure, because they had to be able to shut down very quickly and start up in full extract mode in the event of biological or nuclear attack. Control panels had to be designed which would allow this operation to take place automatically when required.

We designed a system which used the most reliable switchgear to provide high standards of control. It was also robust as it had to be able to withstand adverse conditions such as nuclear explosions.
